Because of contractual obligation, we are not able to reveal the name of the American multinational investment bank and financial services company headquartered in NYC that we just finished a two and a half year engagement with, nor any of its affiliates.
What we can say is that when the VP in charge of of the product realized it was time to migrate from Flex to HTML5, he reached out to Futurescale for help. A long time user of PureMVC, he was more than confident that we were the company to help with that transition.
A large modular application, we took ownership of the platform shell and its core libraries, while developers around the world who were dependant upon it continued to contribute widget code in Flex. Meanwhile, we worked directly with the HTML5 team to reimagine the application shell and core libraries in Angular, JavaScript, and Node.js.
The result was a platform that could host new HTML5-based widgets built with any framework or wrapped, legacy FLex widgets. This set them on a path where they could operate with the new shell and port the legacy widgets according to a reasonable timeline.
The product VP had this to say:
Cliff is one of the most thorough and detail oriented developers I've had the pleasure of working with. He asks all the right questions upfront and then just delivers the right product at the right time without requiring any further guidance or oversight. He manages his time really well, doesn't shy away from learning new technologies, and does the work with honesty and diligence. I would recommend Cliff to anyone who wants to build a solid product and has no time for micro-management.
