ISPAN will allow USSTRATCOM to collaboratively plan its new, growing missions through an integrated, flexible command and control system.
When Lockheed Martin was awarded the contract to build ISPAN, they wisely chose Macromedia Flex for the user interface. Flex can deliver robust and complex applications through the browser, eliminating the need for installation and maintenance of desktop assets.
With Macromedia Flex being a relatively new technology, developers on the project quickly found the need for some advice on maintainable patterns, so we headed out to their offices in Omaha to lend a hand.
Lynn Mrsny, Lead Systems Engineer on the project had this to say:
Cliff has done a great job with looking at our requirements and providing recommendations and a framework for refactoring our Flex applications. He has worked our list of issues and provided a good mockup of best practices and ideas for implementation.
